In tropical countries, the preferred raw material for biodiesel is palm oil, Europe uses mostly low‐erucic rapeseed oil and the USA soya oil. To a large extent, the growth of biodiesel depends on direct or indirect subsidies for the agriculture and on tax exemptions. The first part of the palm fruit was washed, boiled for one hour and pounded using mortal and pestle until the tissue separated from the kernel. The pounded palm fruit was allowed to cool by addition of cold water so that during pressing, oil will flow on top of the water. Oil was collected by decantation to drain off water. The top countries of suppliers are Brazil, China, and Indonesia, from which the percentage of raw material palm oil supply is 1%, 81%, and 2% respectively. Usually, edible vegetable oils, such as palm oil, soybean, rapeseed, corn, sesame and sunflower, are the prevalent feedstocks for biodiesel production. The high value of edible vegetable oils as a food product makes production of biodiesel fuel very challenging as the cost of raw materials accounts for 60–70% of the total production cost of biodiesel fuel ( Krawczyk, 1996 , Ma and Hanna, 1999 ).
